Our Wedding Anniversary!

Today is our 3rd year wedding anniversary. It does not feel like 3 years since we were standing on the beach at Vanuatu with our closest family & friends. Here is a pic of our amazing day! There has been sooo much going on in our house at the moment, my sewing time is vanishing!!!
On 8th July it was John (my hubby's) b'day and we had a roast lunch with friends and I made him a meringue cake, which Jade helped me decorate.

Uncle John I promise I didn't eat all the M&M's......
I have never been successful at making meringue's, so I got out my Margaret Fulton encyclopedia that my sis bought me for my b'day, and SUCCESS!!!! I also received a gorgeous book called "Homemade" for my b'day with lots of little projects in it! It is such a pretty book, thank you Rini! I'm not much of a knitter but I might aim to get these Fingerless gloves done for next winter... maybe.... Here is the Meringue recipe and Fingerless gloves pattern!

Angel always loves sitting on the pages of a book that I want to read, and Talia found out the joy of her big sister (Angel) boxes & toys...

Talia has a bottom tooth now, hence the last 2 weeks of a grumble-bum bub!! I think she also has the other bottom one coming through too! Here is an update for my parents of Talia jumping (sorry mum you have to look sideways..)

PS. I promise some sewing projects to come... PPS. Also Happy Anniversary to my sis & my Richie Bro! who joined us for a Double Wedding in Vanuatu! Love ya's

It's my birthday!

It is my birthday today and I have been so spoilt! My mixer blew up on Sunday while I was baking cupcakes to take to work, so today I received an AWESOME mixmaster from John & Talia! LOVE IT! LOVE IT! LOVE IT!!!!! I couldn't resist today by baking some more cupcakes with my new mixer! I baked some peach & vanilla cupcakes today with cream frosting and I coloured the coconut for the topping.

We had morning tea at work yesterday and I baked some mudcake muffins and cappacino cupcakes with a meringue topping. I used my cupcake stand and I forgot to take a photo, it looked awesome! But managed to take a pic of 2 cupcakes before John demolised them!

Here are some of the pressies I have recieved, some boots from my sis, cupcake stand from my mother-in-law(pic above), mixer from John & Talia.

I also had a wonderful card made from Talia at daycare yesterday. It's the first hand & footprints that we have of her. Thank Nicole & Jess! I did try once when she was really little, but ended up with paint everywhere and no prints....
I have had the most enjoyable day today. Here are some things that happened on my b'day!
Morning tea with Nikki at McCafe, I hopped out of the shower this morning and turned around and there was Angel sitting in the wet shower!, also some pics of mummy & Talia. The most memorable thing today was having a dance with Talia to playschool...... our own little moment....

As my parents are RVing around USA, I told mum I'd keep her updated on Talia on my blog. Here she is crawling around on the weekend. She is now standing up and desperately grabbing onto anything she can pull herself up on!

Bonnet, Booties & Mittens

I have a very clever Nanny! Before she left for her holiday she knitted me a Bonnet & Booties and I love them!!! Thank you Nanny, I love you and will miss you! Love Talia xxx
We have had a few Milestones for Talia lately.
  • She has started slowly crawling, even if it is to reach for toys & food!
  • She is also now saying "ba ba ba...", so she now has mmm & bbbb down pact and hasn't stopped talking all day!! Another chatterbox in the house... poor John....
I have been looking for some knitted fingerless mittens in a babies size and haven't found anything.... So I made my own with some old baby socks, just cut out the toes and a tiny hole for her thumb and they work great, so i'll do some more soon! They do the job and keep her hands warm!

Baby Sun Hat & Tote Bag

Talia had her first day at DayCare yesterday! I was very impressed with all the staff at the DayCare and they were wonderful with her. When I picked her up she was giving all the staff big smiles & hugs that she didn't even realise I was there, so I could tell she loved it and had a great day. She painted, ate lots of yummy food, read stories, played in a toy kitchen.... no wonder why she loved it! I was so proud of her!!!

She needs a hat and bag with her name on it, so why not have mum make a personalized one!! I have not made hats before and was surprise how much I enjoyed making it. Her matching bag and hat are denim and pink (of course!). I have found it easier to use felt for the letters and material as the backing letters. I will put these on my Etsy shop in the next few days. The bag has inside pockets and a waterproof pocket for bottles, also a clip to keep a dummy...

Lets hope she continues to love it and meets lots of friends!!
Sorry there is so much of my daughter, but I am finally getting to sew her things...
Keep posted for some Ladies tops that I have ready to sew by the machine!! They are next on my list.
Cheers Lee

Mum's 60th!

A few weekends ago we celebrated my mums 60th birthday with a party at Mt Lawley Golf Club. Lots of family, friends, food & drinks!
Here is my wonderful family: Talia, me, John(husband), Mum, Richie(bro in-law), Dad, Stacey(sis) & Austin(nephew).
Here is Talia's party dress I made. I made it out of remenants, using hot pink satin for the slip dress with a chiffon, net & ribbon swirling design. It looked so cute. I also made a cute headband to match! I don't have a detailed pic of it, so pics to come soon! I also made mum's b'day cake. Awesome choc-mud muffins with ganache on the top. My Aunty Jean also helped ice them. Sooo yummy!!!!!! I wanted to sew a dress for myself, but ran out of time... So I wore this Teal dress I made for Aunty Jeans 60th a few years ago, I was lucky it still fit me otherwise I would've been sewing all night.... I'll take some good pics of it later as I love this dress!
We also had more great pics taken by Jeannette. I hope you had a wonderful party mum, HAPPY 60th!

Baby Bathers

Talia had her first swimming lesson yesterday and she FINALLY got to wear her bathers again that I made her for christmas last year. Even though she looked a bit "stunned" in the pool, she was the cuttest dressed bub there!!!

They are now available on my Etsy site. These great pics are from Jeannette Baxter!Cheers Lee-Anne

Here are some of the beautiful pics of Talia at 6mths old. There are too many to post!

I have sewn a heap of little girl tops lately, pics to come soon!
Hope everyone remembered the ANZAC's today.

Welcome to Talia Anne Stillitano

Sorry for the delay in posting, however on 22nd October at 6.05pm we had a bubby girl, Talia Anne Stillitano. Here is a pic of our beautiful girl.

I can't believe how fast the weeks have gone and Talia is nearly 1 month old! It only feels like yesterday that I looked huge and the thought of having a baby in the house was strange. We are now settled in at home and venturing out into the real world with short little trips.

Also just want to say Happy Birthday to my nephew, Austin for today! Happy 6th Birthday!!

Love

Bub is due today!

Well today is the baby's due date and now we are just waiting, waiting and waiting. Over the last 2 months I have done heaps of sewing, finished work (which was very busy), had 1 month off work on maternity leave (which I have been busy with appointments, cooking-jams-chutney-muffins-cakes, sewing, relaxing)

Here is a pic from my Baby Shower that my sis organised, it is some of my family who came and spoilt us!

We received loads of pressies and we are very lucky to have been spoilt! Here are some of the cute little jumpsuits we received.

Here is John's favourite, it's a pair of leggins that look like jeans. My sis got them for bub!
Here is an updated pic of my huge belly, it was taken a few days ago. We are all ready (well as much as can be...) and just the last few days have been a bit uncomfortable, so I am hoping bub doesn't need too much over-cooking.....
Over the next few days I plan to take some photo's of the things I have been sewing over the last 2 months, maternity wear, nursery & baby things.... That might keep me busy for a day. Apart from that, it's just playing the waiting game...

Will try to keep updating blog more often....
