Baby Sun Hat & Tote Bag

Talia had her first day at DayCare yesterday! I was very impressed with all the staff at the DayCare and they were wonderful with her. When I picked her up she was giving all the staff big smiles & hugs that she didn't even realise I was there, so I could tell she loved it and had a great day. She painted, ate lots of yummy food, read stories, played in a toy kitchen.... no wonder why she loved it! I was so proud of her!!!

She needs a hat and bag with her name on it, so why not have mum make a personalized one!! I have not made hats before and was surprise how much I enjoyed making it. Her matching bag and hat are denim and pink (of course!). I have found it easier to use felt for the letters and material as the backing letters. I will put these on my Etsy shop in the next few days. The bag has inside pockets and a waterproof pocket for bottles, also a clip to keep a dummy...

Lets hope she continues to love it and meets lots of friends!!
Sorry there is so much of my daughter, but I am finally getting to sew her things...
Keep posted for some Ladies tops that I have ready to sew by the machine!! They are next on my list.
Cheers Lee

Laptop Bag

As I have purchased a laptop recently, (finally!) I have wanted to make a Laptop Bag. It is fully padded around the sides, front & back with thick packing foam. I have included pockets on the inside for storage and an extra foam insert. I am really happy with the end result, however will not be making anymore, as I struggled & got very frustrated trying to sew with very thick foam (I think you would need an industrial machine...)

It is made out of a black thick cotton drill and I have added a black & white satin strip as a feature.
At least I tried and have that thought out of my head now! and I have a snazy Laptop bag!

Scrapbooking Bag

I was sick & tired of carrying around our wedding album in a bright yellow pillow case, so I made a bag to carry it around in, out of the remaining bridesmaid material. I decorated it with some ribbon and an embroidered piece with our names on it that I had spare from our wedding. It also fits a Scrapbooking Album perfectly in it. Yes, i'll be making more for each of my Scrapbooking albums!!!!

As my Aunty Jean made a beautiful scrapbook for her 60th b'day, I made her a Scrapbooking Bag for her album for it. The cream material had really nice embroidered flowers on it (apologies for the poor quality picture), so I kept the flower theme and decorated the front with her name and a few flowers on the bottom. The bag also has pockets inside to keep bits n pieces.

SI can't wait to get some time to make a bag for my Thailand Scrapbook, using some Thai Silk i bought from thailand!

I think these would sell well for Scrapbookers.... Let me know if you have any other suggestions and if you like this idea?

Cheers, Lee-Anne
