Cameron's 1st Birthday!

At my work a few of us girls were all pregnant at the same time, so the first bub has turned 1! I can't believe how fast the last year has gone!!!
Here is a Winnie The Poo cake for Cameron's first birthday, which was on Tuesday. I hear you had a wonderful party Cameron!I have a few sewing projects on at the moment for friends, school dance costumes, maternity dress, b'day cakes..... It is great to know that people are thinking of me for the creations!

Apologies for the slackness in posting, I have a sick husband and I think Talia & myself have a touch of it..... so I don't want to get any material out until our house is germ free!!!

Everyone rug up during the start of the winter weather.

Baby Sun Hat & Tote Bag

Talia had her first day at DayCare yesterday! I was very impressed with all the staff at the DayCare and they were wonderful with her. When I picked her up she was giving all the staff big smiles & hugs that she didn't even realise I was there, so I could tell she loved it and had a great day. She painted, ate lots of yummy food, read stories, played in a toy kitchen.... no wonder why she loved it! I was so proud of her!!!

She needs a hat and bag with her name on it, so why not have mum make a personalized one!! I have not made hats before and was surprise how much I enjoyed making it. Her matching bag and hat are denim and pink (of course!). I have found it easier to use felt for the letters and material as the backing letters. I will put these on my Etsy shop in the next few days. The bag has inside pockets and a waterproof pocket for bottles, also a clip to keep a dummy...

Lets hope she continues to love it and meets lots of friends!!
Sorry there is so much of my daughter, but I am finally getting to sew her things...
Keep posted for some Ladies tops that I have ready to sew by the machine!! They are next on my list.

Mum's 60th!

A few weekends ago we celebrated my mums 60th birthday with a party at Mt Lawley Golf Club. Lots of family, friends, food & drinks!
Here is my wonderful family: Talia, me, John(husband), Mum, Richie(bro in-law), Dad, Stacey(sis) & Austin(nephew).
Here is Talia's party dress I made. I made it out of remenants, using hot pink satin for the slip dress with a chiffon, net & ribbon swirling design. It looked so cute. I also made a cute headband to match! I don't have a detailed pic of it, so pics to come soon! I also made mum's b'day cake. Awesome choc-mud muffins with ganache on the top. My Aunty Jean also helped ice them. Sooo yummy!!!!!! I wanted to sew a dress for myself, but ran out of time... So I wore this Teal dress I made for Aunty Jeans 60th a few years ago, I was lucky it still fit me otherwise I would've been sewing all night.... I'll take some good pics of it later as I love this dress!
We also had more great pics taken by Jeannette. I hope you had a wonderful party mum, HAPPY 60th!

Ciara's Ball Dress

Over Christmas I made this beautiful Ball Dress for a friends daughter. It turned out amazing and got my confidence up for sewing Ball Dresses again. I loved doing it and it looked fab on Ciara. She came to me with a tricky design, but I think I managed to sew it exactly how she wanted it....
I managed to make the pattern myself with only a few adjustments. A few tricky bits were the curved side pieces around the bust and the point at the lower back... A lot of hand sewing with bead and the front diamond feature. The "Royal Blue" colour looked gorgeous with her striking long black hair.

I was waiting for a photo of Ciara in her dress, but sorry Ciara, couldn't wait to post it! I will put a photo up later, as people always love seeing the end product on someone.

Tie Bolero top

Here is a Bolero top I made a while ago and with some remenants that I picked up. It has a hugged neck line and ties at the front. I have extended the length to come to the waist and hopefully it reaches the ribs and above the smallest part of the waist drawing the eyes to the thin part of the torso.....
It is really easy to make as the shoulder piece is connected to the front & back pieces, therefore no shoulder seams, LOVE IT!
As these don't take up much material I will pick up remenant pieces and put them in my Etsy shop, but as I will pre-make them I can't make them to measure... :(
I will dig around in my material and see what I get time to whip up on the weekend!
Cheers

Baby Bathers

Talia had her first swimming lesson yesterday and she FINALLY got to wear her bathers again that I made her for christmas last year. Even though she looked a bit "stunned" in the pool, she was the cuttest dressed bub there!!!

They are now available on my Etsy site. These great pics are from Jeannette Baxter!Cheers Lee-Anne
